The Becontree Wheelers membership is drawn mainly from East London and South West Essex although we do have members who live as far away as Manchester, Reading and Nottingham.
The club caters for all cycling disciplines. Our present strength lies in Time Trialling, where members have won Team prizes in a number of local events in the past few years.
The popular Friday evening 10 mile Time Trial series is held on the E14/10a course. Organised in an informal manner, members of other clubs affiliated to Cycling Time Trials are always welcome to enter on the line. The series also provides three separate competitions for club riders, one based on times another on finishing positions together with a handicap prize for the rider making the greatest improvement.
The off road section of the club goes out twice a week. We meet at Hacton Lane playground car park at 9am on Saturday mornings and at 9.30 am on Wednesday mornings. You will need an off road machine as most of the riding is on trails.
