The Club was formed in 1901 resulting from a split with the East Chesterton Motorcycle Club. Much of the Club’s history is long forgotten with only a few newspaper photgraphs remaining (photo courtesy of Mackays)
Currently the emphasis of the club is in providing activities for adult recreational and racing cyclists. We encourage riders who are less than 18 years old to look either to Cambridge Triathlon Club or Cambridge Junior Cycling Club
The Club organises rides that take place throughout the year, mainly on Sunday mornings, for members and prospective members. We welcome newcomers but if you are under 18, go to our Juniors page. Prospective members can join rides before deciding whether or not to join the Club. Contact our Club Runs Captain who will put you in contact with a relevant group.
There is usually a café stop at mid-distance. Rides are organised on a regular basis, as below. Quoted speeds are whilst riding and may be slower in winter and faster in summer. Be aware that our ride leaders are not obliged to turn up when fog and/or ice are forecast.
