Welcome to Chepstow Cycling Club, Monmouthshire’s friendliest and most fun cycling club.
Chepstow Cycling Club is a club for everybody who wants to enjoy time on a bike. Young or old, fast or slow, we aim to offer something for everybody.
Because we were all beginners once, the club is incredibly supportive of new members. And friendliness is an ethos that runs right through the club – our aim is to be Monmouthshire’s friendliest cycling club!
Our members encompass a wide variety of abilities, from those just getting into road cycling, right through to competitive racers and those getting in 5,000+ miles per year. We have around 100 members, which means there are plenty of people to ride with, and a number of different rides going out each week.
Take us for a test ride!
You don’t need to take it from us – feel free to come on a test ride with the club!
The recreational rides on a Wednesday evening (from around Easter time onward) and weekends are also ideal for beginners to join, so there’s no need to wait for a newbie ride to come out!
All riders are welcome to come along for up to 3 rides before becoming a member.
GROUP CYCLING
Cycling as part of a club opens up so many opportunities for individuals. If you just want to explore and new hobby and the surrounding area on a bike then riding with a club is a great way to do that with like minded riders.
If you are more serious, and want to consider pushing your limits in distance, speed or racing, then the experience you will be able to gain from other club members will really help you achieve you aims.
COMPETITION
Riding with the club will help you learn more about what you can do to satisfy and competitive urges. Be it at the velodrome, on time trials or road racing both beginners or experienced riders will benefit from the experience of other club members.
We will shortly also have trained club coaches who will be able to offer advice.
Many riders get intimidated at the thought of taking out a spanner to adjust their bike or just simply put up with noisy gears.
At the club you will be able to speak to, and get the help from many who love to get oily, or true a wobbly wheel. The club spirit ensures that we look after each other and help each other out. Anything to keep the wheels turning.
Although we are about the riding, we do also meet up for regular social events so we can talk all things bikes (or other topics!). Social events are usually held monthly, with details published on our FaceBook page.
