Hinckley Cycle Racing Club (HCRC) started life in a garden shed in Hinckley, Leicestershire in 1947.
There were no cycling clubs local to Hinckley at that time so eight cycling friends including current life President Trev Page decided to start one.
Originally called Hinckley Cycling Club (HCC) the name was changed in the 1980’s to better represent the large amount of members racing.
The club was initially affiliated to the National Cycling Union before switching allegiances to the British League of Racing Cyclists. At one stage the club promoted four road races a year.
Club runs catering for all abilities leave from the Bandstand in Argents Mead, Hinckley at 8.30 on Sunday mornings.
The club runs Go Ride sessions for 5-16 year olds every other Saturday afternoon at Triumph Motorcycles in Hinckley.
The club also promotes a club 10 mile trial each Tuesday night between April and September on the popular Cloudesley Bush course at Wolvey Heath.
Each May the club promotes an open 4 up team time trial that continues to go from strength to strength attracting 112 riders in 2019.
