The Leicester Forest Cycling Club is one of the most respected clubs nationwide. Since it was created by a group of enthusiasts in 1923 it has always been an organised, sensibly structured and disciplined club.
During this period of over three-quarters of a century it has produced many local, county and national champions in all aspects of cycle racing; time trials, road and track.
At the same time, many of the club’s members have been well respected and efficient officials and administrators. For example, the LFCC organised the 1954 25 mile RTTC Championships and then in 1974 the RTTC 12 Hours Championship. Club members have also played major roles at Track Championships both at National and World level.
With rising fuel costs and an improved awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, our numbers are reflecting the boom in cycling and our membership has nearly doubled between 2008 and today. Our members interests include many aspects of cycling including Time Trials, Road Racing, Mountain Biking, Trailquest and Audax riding. New members are always welcome, so why not link up with one of the rides or contact the club secretary for more details. All that we ask is that you have a sense of humour and a tolerance for the aged!
