About Us

Our story

Cycle Together, founded by siblings Biola and Kunle Babawale, is dedicated to making cycling more accessible and inclusive for people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures within their local communities.

Sports activity is lowest amongst ethnic minorities. A gender gap exists in sports and is most pronounced amongst these communities.

As a consequence of this inequality in physical activity, marginalised groups face significant health disparities. By empowering individuals to incorporate exercise into their weekly routines, Cycle Together strives to improve health outcomes as well as address issues such as loneliness, social isolation, and mental wellbeing

The initial concept of Cycle Together emerged from a desire to showcase the numerous local groups that foster inclusivity. The result was an inclusive club finder. Since then, Cycle Together has expanded and now focuses on overcoming barriers in cycling through online support groups, an extensive resource hub, providing inclusive cycling training and more.

Our Mission

Our mission at Cycle Together is to get more people who have been traditionally marginalized in sport cycling for leisure and sport.

Our Vision

Our vision at Cycle Together is to achieve equitable participation rates in cycling that reflect the diverse composition of our population.

Through our efforts, we envision a future where cycling becomes a widely accessible and inclusive activity, enabling individuals from all walks of life to experience the freedom, empowerment, and sense of belonging that cycling brings.

Our founder

CEO Biola brings a wealth of invaluable experience in grassroots cycling, coupled with an extensive background in business and finance spanning over a decade in asset management. Her experience positions her as a catalyst for positive change within the cycling community.

Biola’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity is evident through her involvement in various cycling initiatives. Notably, she served as the chair of Velociposse, a renowned all-women’s cycling club, for a three-year tenure. Under her leadership, the club experienced a four-fold increase in membership, a testament to her and the committee’s leadership.

Recognizing her remarkable contributions to the cycling world, Biola was honored as one of Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling. Her expertise has also been sought after by cycling club consortiums, who have invited her to serve as a consultant to improve inclusion and diversity within their clubs.

Biola’s background as a British Cycling coach and her involvement with the Women of Colour Cycling Collective further underline her commitment to empowering marginalized groups within cycling.

Having served as the chair of Velociposse, I gained firsthand insight into the challenges individuals encounter when seeking to join a cycling club. Recognizing the importance of overcoming these barriers, I created initiatives to foster inclusivity and accessibility within my own club and throughout the London cycling community.

By sharing the knowledge and experiences gained through my work with Velociposse, I hope to contribute to the transformation of cycling communities worldwide, making them more welcoming, diverse, and empowering for all individuals.
